Maja Fjaestad is the State Secretary to the Swedish Minister for Strategic Development and Nordic Cooperation Kristina Persson. In her position she is responsible for coordination and planning within the Ministry, which pursues the green transition and initiatives to influence the global agenda for sustainable development. She holds a Ph.D. in technology from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. Before her appointment as State Secretary she worked as an Assistant Professor and researcher at the Divison of History of Science, Technology and Environment at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. She further served as a Political Adviser to the Minister for Sustainable Development and as a Special Adviser to the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications.
Maja Fjaestad received an international education and participated in doctoral programs at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin as well as at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston.
